Supervision

Unlock Your Potential

Congratulations! You’ve completed your graduate studies and have passed the NCE! Now you’re eager to continue to grow the skills you learned during your practicum and acquire new ones. This is an exciting time for you and it would be a pleasure to help you navigate the next part of your journey by providing you with clinical supervision!

Cynthia B. Nava, M.S., LPC-S is recognized by the Texas Behavioral Health Executive Counsel as a Licensed Professional Counselor- Supervisor, and is now offering supervision to LPC-Associates. Cynthia has a passion for helping new counselors grow in their knowledge of providing counseling services, and in gaining a better understanding of themselves as a counselor. Supervision is provided in a safe, collaborative environment, wherein you will be offered the opportunity to explore various theories, skills and interventions, ethical and cultural applications, and goal-setting.

Much like her counseling practice, Cynthia views her role as an LPC-S from a person-centered approach, allowing you to find the answers that you innately possess, while providing gentle guidance, clarity, and support. Supervision will focus on your professional development, and therapeutic competence, while allowing you to grow your awareness, conceptualization, and administrative skills, all of which are vital to your success as a professional counselor. Time spent in supervision will be educational, thought-provoking, and fun!

Cynthia has experience working with multiple populations, including, but limited to, adults, children and adolescents, families, chronically mentally ill, substance abuse, veterans, and survivors of domestic violence and sexual abuse. Cynthia’s work experience include inpatient and outpatient care, including Partial Hospitalization, Intensive Outpatient, and office settings, as well as school-based services. Though Cynthia has experience working with multiple mental health issues, her specialties consist of trauma and abuse, grief and loss, depression, and anxiety, along with first generation issues, and religious questioning as subspecialties. Cynthia mostly works within the Narrative Theory framework, but is comfortable with most counseling theories, including, but not limited to, Cognitive Behavioral, Solution-Focused, and Systems Theory.

Group and individual supervision is offered face to face and via a HIPAA compliant webcam software. Flexible scheduling is available.
